  • Tags:

Purpose:

This procedure describes the academic appeal process available to students placed on academic suspension at Winona State University (WSU).

Procedure:

Students who are suspended for not meeting minimum academic standards at WSU can appeal as follows:

  1. Students submit an online written appeal to the Director of the Warrior Success Center (WSC).

  2. The WSC Director forwards the written appeal along with documentation of the student’s academic progress to the WSU Faculty Association or its designee.

  3. The WSU Student Affairs Committee, as the designee of the WSU Faculty Association, reviews the appeal and either grants the appeal, denies the appeal, or denies the appeal pending an oral review with the student.

  4. The WSC Director or designee serves on the committee as ex-officio and communicates the faculty committee’s decision to the student.

The faculty committee’s decisions are final unless an exception is granted by the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs.
