ASF Employee Evaluation and Development Policy (Draft)

Purpose:

This policy describes the employee evaluation and development process of Administrative Service Faculty (ASF) members at Winona State University (WSU).

Rationale for Revision and Major Changes:

(This is for stakeholder review, not for publishing)

This policy draft is a proposed update for a legacy regulation:

This policy now designates the Director of Human Resources as the responsible officer, and it provides a definition for “ASF Evaluation/Development Plan.” The updated procedure specifies the “tools for evaluation” in much more detail.

Suggested Stakeholder feedback deadline:

Feedback should be provided using this WSU form by 11/01/2024.

Policy:

ASF faculty submit an Evaluation/ Development Plan each year describing and evaluating their own job performance, their skills and effectiveness, and their development goals to their supervisor. The supervisor, after reviewing the plan and completing an evaluation, meets with the faculty member to review the evaluation and complete the development plan, addressing any deficiencies noted in the evaluation in accordance with ASF Master Agreement Article 10, Section E. Supervisors send a copy of the Evaluation/Development Plan to Human Resources to be included in the employee’s personnel file.

Related definitions:

[5-4] ASF Evaluation/Development Plan:

A plan for employee evaluation and development created by the faculty member and based on job performance, skills and effectiveness, and development goals.
